I’m not sure I have anything really deep or profound to say about this yet, but it occurred to me today that I’ve never claimed the title immigrant. I’m going to have to think more about why. My immediate thoughts are behind the cut.

Big Brother meets Web 2.0
Secondly, I’m tired of being drafted into “Youth” activities at church to the complete exclusion of any “adult” activities. I’m 26 years old now it’s getting sort of ridiculous.
For those of you who watch heroes and read Batman (minor spoiler warning, skip the next paragraph if you don’t want to know).
Linderman is Ra’s Al Ghul, he has the same philosophies, same eloquence. He’s someone who, when he starts making his speech, you find yourself nodding your head and agreeing with him right up until the moment he starts talking about mass murder.

Praise God for the reappearance of leaves this weekend and to the hopeful resumption of biking this week.
That is all.
Edit: Ok, I had to add this. I just got a phonecall that is probably the nightmare of several single 25 year old men in the world today. The phone rang, I picked it up and the person on the other end said “Hey, dad.”
Luckily it was a wrong number.

About a year ago today, in response to objectifying comic book covers, and in particular some fans’ arguments that these covers are totally appropriate, Livejournal user odditycollector put up a post titled “Totally appropriate covers” (warning, the link isn’t exactly family friendly) that illustrated their point beautifully. I don’t want to take anything away from the point, but a recent article (quoted and linked below) found via comics212 brought a thought to my mind that I’ve had before.

This image of George Brett was part of a larger page with his biographical information. All users tested looked the image, but there was a distinct difference in focus between men and women.
Here’s my thought, in light of the above and how women and men are different in general, I think that the livejournal post above fails in one aspect. I don’t think this is what a woman objectifying a man would be like, it still seems to be taking a male perspective of what should be titilating to women. My theory is that stuff like this (and the entire gallery for that matter) is the female version of male objectification.
That’s a clunky sentence, but I’d like to know what you think.
Also, I’d like to be totally clear that I do not approve of the objectification of any of the covers above, male or female.

I’m overbooked. If there is something that is a recurring problem for me, it’s overbooking and overworking myself. I’m about to turn 26 (so oooooold) in May. I think achieving and maintaining a healthy schedule/workload is going to be one of my major focuses for my 26th year.
The hard part is, I’m involved in these things because I believe them to be worthwhile, and part of building the Kingdom. It’s hard to decide to drop one (or two) of these things. How do you decide which ministry is more worth your time? There are some things that are definitely priority, but for the rest, what do you do?
