Really though, I think that’s all they are worth. Thoroughly disappointed with my sketching these last couple of days.

You might notice my very own attempt at Superman on the bottom there. I haven’t quite gotten him. and I feel like my Batman was better (and my penguin outshone them both). Still, I did a pretty decent spit curl. It is the thing you must remember if drawing Supes.
By the way, I’ve decided that I’m going to have a full feed for this blog. You can access the xml feed at http://feeds.feedburner.com/MoleskineOnABus I’ll put one of those little xml buttons there soon, honest.

So there’s a tool I haven’t used in a while. In the stash of pens and pencils I carry around in my jacket pocket, there’s a pigma brushpen which I haven’t used to sketch in a while, but was used to do the guy in the hat to the upper left. The guy on the upper right is a random dude with plugs in his earlobes. I don’t think I had any sketches of those, so I wanted to get one of him. The rest of the drawings on this page aren’t done from life.
Notice the Batman drawing? As far as I can remember, I could never draw a good Batman. There must be some sort of mental block. So I decided that I would try again, but this time I took more time to construct his helmet (yeah, for some reason I started to think of it as a helmet). This gave me better results, but I don’t think I’ve gotten it yet.
The dude with the long hair is my attempt at drawing someone like one of those emo kids that are always getting featured on Xanga (if you have no idea what I’m talking about, count yourself lucky). Was considering using a character like that in a webcomic I am developing (and will possibly do) but I am not sure I like it.

Lot’s of pen and ink for you here. I tried to include some of the background of the bus in the drawing on the right. Didn’t do that well, and used what was definitely the wrong pen (I just grabbed the first one out of my pocket. Still, you live you learn.

This second one I did today as I decided that I had been getting a lot of practice doing heads, and I needed to do a body or two, so here’s some quick drawings. You see a lot of the way I draw with this. Lots of tiny scribbles that may be neatened up later.

So the guy on the not so far left, looks exactly like a television stereotype of a Russian Mobster. I’m not sure how much I captured in this pic. The cowboy hat and the boot are of this guy who’s shown up twice on my bus so far. He wears a cowboy hat, a black trenchcoat, a leather choker with metal rings, the most awesome boots ever and other random black semi goth clothing. I really want to get a picture of him here, but he’s only on the bus for a minute after I get on. I’ll keep adding pieces of him. Finally there is this kid on the bus, who was so cool. I listened to him talk for a long time about how he’s the fastest runner in his class. He wouldn’t stop moving, so that’s the best sketch I could get of him. I’ve got some nice sketches coming up next upload as got inspired on the bus home today.
